Week 8 Comments and Feedback

I appreciated the comments I've received from my peers in this class. I think having everyone learn a bit about how to give constructive feedback before we started commenting on each other's stories has given us all a framework for how to be most helpful to each other. I've received specific, fixable criticisms on my Storybook, for example — several people told me my design wasn't spooky enough, and they offered ideas for how to make it spookier!

I'm trying to leave equally helpful comments for my peers in this class, keeping in mind what kind of feedback I find productive. I try to make sure my comments are specific and offer tangible suggestions for improvement.

I like how part of our commenting each week is reading through someone's introduction post and getting to know them. I like that I have a sense of who all is taking this class with me, which is something that I haven't always had in other online classes.

So far, I feel like my feedback assignments in general are going well. The only change I'd make on my behalf is giving myself more time to give thoughtful feedback — I'll be honest that I procrastinate on that part of the class, since it's one of the last assignments of the week, so I don't always leave myself tons of time to help my peers.

For my feedback cat, I picked this one: Feedback can help you focus. In this class, feedback helps me focus on what I need to revise, so I thought this cat meme reflected that nicely.
